The Man Van Experience
I am a man and I drive a minivan. Whew, there it is. I have a friend that calls his minvan the “Money Van”. Minivan’s are funny things for men. I never had a reservation for driving one because with three kids and rising gas prices it makes the most sense. Some men refuse to give in, you’ll see them driving the big SUV’s you know, 4X4 off-road package, the ones that will NEVER go off road. If it was an option though, I would probably drive a one of these.
The van was a gift so naturally I was stoked to have it. Very soon I took the back seats out and started hauling things in it, sort of a work van. It wasn’t too long before my boys gave it a name, The Man Van.
Much better. I love the Man Van and so do my boys. We do manly things in the man van like drive to Home Depot and take trash to the recycling center. A few days ago my oldest (6) and I were coming home from HD and he asked me a question. It was totally God moving on his heart because I had been thinking about this for a few days. He asked me, “Daddy are you rich?”.
I had an answer immediately because for the last two days I had been praising God for making me a wealthy man!! I told him YES! I have everything I need and then some!
I raise my own support for the ministry we started a few years ago. We have had to learn how to really trust God in all areas especially financially. Last, year in particular, was very challenging for us as a family. Recently the Spirit of Christ started to minister to me in this area and I am SO encouraged to be where I am. This post is leading to a few more thoughts, I will have to expound later on trusting God, confidence in money, pursuing success, etc.
If you are in a bind financially or struggling to trust God remember these words.
